Film and New Media

Challenge

At a national, regional and local level there is presently a strong political will to back initiatives that fall within the field of experience economy. One such initiative has been taken by the Central Denmark Region and Northern Denmark Region. Acknowledging that there is a large creative potential within the fields of film, new media and game design in the two regions, an executive committee was set up with representatives from the political system and a number of external advisers including Seismonaut. The committee was given the authority to work out a strategy that can support and grow this field.

Solution

New technological progress has made it possible for businesses within this field to work on projects serving not just local but global clients. This has given the businesses a number of rewarding opportunities but also challenges, as the competition is growing.

Seismonaut was asked to design a conference experience that would shed light on this. After mapping a number of inspiring speakers we selected a handful that were invited to present at the event. Through a number of shorter interactive sessions the future opportunities within the field were presented, and room was given for the political actors to present the developed strategy.

Outcome

The 200 participants attending the event came from businesses, higher educational institutions and the political setting. With an average evaluation score of 4,4 on a score sheet from 1-5 with 5 being exceptional, the event achieved the goal of inspiring participants who left motivated and interested in following the project forward and investigate further possibilities in this field.

Besides designing the conference experience, the creative team at Seismonaut developed the conference graphics used on everything from nametags and conference invitation to the exhibition area.
