All the pokin’, pink ribbons, goats, beer mugs, pirate battles and flood of other annoying stuff on Facebook reminds me of the first days when email took off among my friends and relatives. Boy did I receive loads of chain letters, jokes, pics and hoaxes! However, as people start to realize the real potential in the technology, another more mature phase begins and the flooding calms down.

It seems as if the use of social networking is getting into that mature phase. I don’t receive as much attention demanding crap as I did a few months ago. However, how often have I not thought about how Facebook’s way of working would translate to the real world – it would flip the world upside down; everybody would be procrastinating and dumbing down their lives.

Why I am writing this? Well, I just found this great YouTube clip made by the British comedy trio Idiots of Ants aired on BBC about exactly that scenario. It’s hilarious. Enjoy.
