6 Enterprise 2.0 tools for anyone

Body

As I’ve mentioned earlier, online office tools is very popular at Seismonaut. There are a lot of those tools out there, and different terms are used to describe them when used in a corporate context. Enterprise 2.0 and Office 2.0 seem to gain momentum. The “2.0″ is a reference to Web 2.0 which is the common term for collaborative and social media on the net (Well, that’s the short explanation at least). We use them both because they are free (or almost) and because they reinforce collaboration, creativity and connectedness. Oh yeah – we like to think we’re a member of Generation C.

I am interviewed in today’s Danish business paper Erhvervsbladet about these matters. It’s in Danish only, so I wanted to share everyone else with a list of our favourite tools:

  1. Most of our knowledge sharing and project collaboration takes place at OurHoist – an online tool created by the brilliant boys at Hoist.
  2. When it comes to time registration 14Dayz is a smash hit – though it lacks some features we would like to see implemented in time.
  3. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is managed using Salesforce – probably one of the most successful web applications on the whole www.
  4. Brainstorming is done using MindMeister – it’s a clever little tool where everyone can mindmap at the same time whereever the team are.
  5. We’ve recently begun to use Slideshare to share our presentations after talks and keynotes – it’s quite handy when you don’t want to mailbomb people with 50 megs of presentation.
  6. However, if we of some reason, need to send a large file to someone drop.io is a great tool, where everyone can upload huge files and send the link afterwards – for free natürlich.

We use many more online tools, but I’d recommend anyone to take a look at this long list of different tools to find the enterprise webware suite that suits you.

[...] also energize creativity, collaboration and connectedness throughout the organization. I’ve written about our own home cooked Enterprise 2.0 suite before – it’s almost free. TAGS: business | [...]
