Daniel Ord Rasmussen
Daniel trims the social media information jungle and tells it how it is. He’s a realistic technology optimist, if such a thing exists, and doesn’t mince words when it comes to calling out the ineffective web presence.
Professional Background
For a short while Daniel thought he might like to be a journalist, but then he decided against telling other people’s stories for the rest of his life – his own are interesting enough.
Before Seismonaut he garnered a BA in media sciences and multimedia from the University of Aarhus, where narrativity and clarity of intent played a large part whenever possible.
His bachelor thesis was on cross-media and how best to translate one type of media in to another, specifically how Casablanca would make a pretty lousy computer game. The MA is incoming.
He’s run his own media blog for a number of years at pcblog.dk.
Work Experience
He’s written about how DR’s (the Danish national broadcasting corporation) licensing fee campaigns might need an update, and about how Ted Turner is both right and wrong, when he says time has run out for the 24-hour news channel.
He’s co-authored a book about social media tools and was a driving force behing the 48 Hours in Denmark initiativ.
He’s the resident nethnographer and will usually have a comment ready about emerging internet phenomena.
During Off-hours
Daniel’s an avid home theater and technology enthusiast, helped start a computer learning center in his home town of 1500 inhabitants when he was 15, was a scout for 10 years, is half British (not brutish, he hates football) and tries his best to be platform neutral in all things computer-related. Well, that’s what he says. He usually ends up being a bit of a Mac nerd.
