A Danish library wanted to do a state of the art project, which involved new media and RFID technology.
Libraries are experiencing strong competition from the huge offerings new media on the web provides, such as gaming and music downloads. At the same time the role of the librarian is changing rapidly, as robots sort and classify books, and machines take care of loans and delivery.
Seismonaut was asked to help drive an ideation and qualification process to come up with ideas that could help people navigate the library as well as couple the physical books with a digital layer of information. Together with the library we shaped the concepts and recommended a path for funding, collaborators and implementation.
