Actually Reading on the Amazon Kindle

Author
Daniel Ord Rasmussen
Excerpt

We’ve had a Kindle 2 lying around the office for a while, but we never really got round to actually getting anything worth reading on to it. During the weekend I finally transferred a bunch of Gutenberg books to it, along with the new Dan Brown book.

A few thoughts on “free” and things (Warning: Ramble Alert)

Author
Daniel Ord Rasmussen
Excerpt

Chris Anderson published his much talked about “Free” book recently and naturally is was (and is) free from several sources. It can be downloaded as an audiobook read by Chris himself or as an eBook for most platforms.
This post isn’t about that though, the book’s already been discussed at length all over the web. This [...]

Tetris turns 25

Author
Daniel Ord Rasmussen
Excerpt

The classic russian puzzler Tetris celebrated 25 year of falling blocks on the 6th of June. To celebrate I’ve collected a bunch of Tetris links I’ve stolen from around the web.

The essential parts of Tetris remain the same, even after 25 years. While there have been additions and subtractions from the original format (such as [...]

Participatory Culture – A Crash Course

Author
Christian Schwarz Lausten
Excerpt

One of the areas I’ve been thinking quite a bit about during the last couple of years is participatory culture. I even wrote my master’s thesis on that topic (get it in Danish) No doubt it’s a broad and not very well defined area. But in essence it’s a culture with increasingly low barriers to [...]
