A couple of Seismonaut stories in the press

A couple of Seismonaut stories in the press

Body

There’s been some buzz around some of the areas we’re working with lately. First of all, Anders has talked with quite a few journalists during the last couple of months about the One Laptop Per Child project (or “The $100 Laptop” as many call it). He’s been in Nigeria a couple of times (actually he is down there once again – as I write this) following the very first pilot test in a school in Abudja. I am sure he will write something about his experiences on the blog in a couple of days. However, it is possible to hear a very interesting interview with him at Denmark’s Radio P1 (in Danish). And at Computerworld DK you can also read more about his merits. The latest piece on the OLPC is in Wall Street Journal, where Anders helped a journalist with some background info – unfortunately without much credit. Nevertheless it’s a recommendable story.

On the Danish latitude there has been a lot of attention about social networks, lately. Eversince the Prime Minister, Anders Fogh, bragged about his 4000 Facebook friends on his political party’s convention, the media has investigated different aspects of the phenomenon. I have been cited twice in Urban during the last two weeks. First about Google’s Open Social concept and how it might help the emerging social network-fatigue a lot of people are suffering, by constantly signing up for new services. And then once again today about privacy issues and social networking, where I come up with some thumb rules, when signing up for social media in general.

Hej Seismonaut
