48 Hours in Denmark is Coming to a Close

Body

We’ve been working on a project for Midtjysk Turisme called 48 Hours in Denmark, as has been posted on the blog before. The idea is to reach the lead users in the digital tourism field, so as to learn what they do, want and need from both destinations and turist information all round.

To facilitate this we created an online contest / campaign at www.48hoursindenmark.com, where applicants were asked to create a Youtube video of themselves telling why they were the best digital tourists, and why exactly they were at the forefront of ideas and innovation in the field. The reasoning behind the Youtube videos was that we thought it would allow people with the right amount of enthusiasm through the gates, meaning we would get people who understood the web medium and also actually wanted to take part in a project such as this.

The project has been widely discussed on the web, and has featured on fairly prominent sites such as the Hufftington Post and Springwise, as well as smaller scale Danish media such as ComON. While this coverage was great for exposition it did take a while to get the applicants flowing. Possibly because of the need to create a video – which takes time.

The time has now come to start selecting the “winners”. In the spirit of participatory culture the users have been given the power to choose the five finalists. Our internal jury will select the final winners, in cooperation with Midtjysk Turisme.

All the videos are online at www.48hoursindenmark.dk, and you are very welcome to vote for your preferred clip. If you’d like to follow the chatter on Twitter please check out @48hoursindk as well as the hash tag #48hoursindk.

We will post the winners here when the voting ends on Monday the 4th of May.

Update: The winners have been chosen. Their videos are avaiable at www.48hoursindenmark.com.
