48 Hours in Denmark – the future of digital tourism

Body

48 Hours in Denmark is now live and ready to receive all the brilliant input the internet can muster. Basically we’re offering you a free trip to Denmark, with all expenses paid. Plane, hotel, food and fun. What’s the catch? We want you to show us how you use digital media when you travel as a tourist. We want you to tell us how you’ve researched the trip, how you use digital media while you are here, and how you share your experiences when you get home. Anything goes, as long as it has got something to do with digital media.

The initiative is part of a larger cooperation with Midtjysk Turisme a danish Destination Management Organization, in which we are studying ‘best practice’ in the strategic use of digital media in the global travel, tourism and hospitality industries. With 48 hours in Denmak we want to talk to the Tourism 2.0 “lead users” – the people who think of things we don’t and who already use digital media like everyone will in a few years. The added bonus for anyone applying is the chance to win a free trip to Denmark this spring. That’s a fairly good deal isn’t it?

If you’d like to check out the project the actual site is www.48hoursindenmark.com. The tag for any chatter is #48hoursindk and the Facebook Group is here.

Happy hunting!
